OK all, its almost time. So if you are not local and are positive that you are coming then e-mail me so I can give you my cell number. It will be easier to just talk with you all than post directions and other things you may want or need to know. The field is very easy to find no matter what direction you come from. If any of you are flying into Huntsville Airport lest me know when and I can meet you there. I can give you details on hotels, to and from etc...

Just being curious...

Are you guys/gals going to some OSOW-fly´s this year ?

Here in Denmark there are at least one OSOW-fly, and I´m going for sure. Hoping for good flying weather, and that I can bust the cherry, on my new kite. With a little bit of luck, it could be here just in time.

St. Augustine Fun Fly

We are having a Fun Fly here in St. Augustine the last weekend of August the 29th and 30th nothing fancy but it should be a fun weekend to hang out at the beach and fly kites. It will be down on St. Augustine beach just down from Ocean trace road to the south. Where we used to have them years ago. If anyone is in the area come fly with us.

Ok, everyone this is coming up in a bit over two months. I wanted to bring it back up and see if everyone still wants to do this and start to gather info on who plans to make it so Rob and I can get our ducks in a row. With the economy what it is these days do any of you that said they will come have any second thoughts now? thoughts on still doing it? I for one want us to make it happen.

Looks like it's going to be a great weekend of flying in Frankfort. Clouds just broke, and the sun has broken out! Good forcasts for wind and plenty of events planned. Hope to see a lot of kites out this weekend!

This weekend was the old dominion sport kite classic held at Dorey park in Richmond Virginia. People from up and down the east coast everywhere attended.
The weather was hot on Saturday and the wind high so high in fact that several kites just broke under the stress. Sunday was cooler but the wind was higher and not just iffy but almost totally unreliable with giant holes in it and more broken kites. But that didn't seen to stop the competitors and they just kept flying.
Funny...

Intergrapth field at Huntsville Alabama.
Thanks Shawn & Foreverflying for bringing out some big guns today as well as Danny& Sandy with their home made American Eagle which is one of my favorites now for sure. Field had more show kites on it today from our little group of flyers than ever before and many showed up to fly.
Thanks to all that came out and we were missing several of the bunch still today but we did have a good time, heres some of the pics of the day.

Flying At Intergraph In December 08

It was a cold and stormy night. And the days were not all that balmy either. We set out to do some flying on Dec. 18, 19, 20, and 21. The 18th was a wash, it rained but the temps were tolerable. Friday the 19th started to look good but the winds were down and the prospect of better winds was just and allusion. We were getting some sul action and the winds started to pick up. As soon as we got out more kites in a standard wind range the bottom fell out. We got maybe 3 hours of fly...

We're in the 'wondering' stage, wondering if we can afford to do the event, and wondering if anyone can afford to come. We're looking at a date in the latter part of February, between the Daytona 500 and Bike Weeks (days are a little longer and there's a better chance of being warm than in January). Venue will be on the beach in St. Augustine. Current plan is to do an AKA/Eastern League sport kite...

Flying Kites for Kids in Crisis

I finally get to post something in this category and I hope that some of you might be able to attend. I had the wonderful opportunity to co-chair this festival last year and I am excited to be a part of it again this year. I still can't believe that we rose over $4K for the Children's Advocacy Center to help "Kids in Crisis".

Spent the weekend at the Old Dominion Sport Kite Championships. Was a great weekend . Lots of top notch competitors. Lots of top notch Kites. Mostly UL and SUL weather. some great routines. got a few pics.
