The Saber II is an updated version of the saber. I played around with the sail shape and frame a bit to make it turn tighter, track better, and trick better.
It is far more agile and more forgiving than the original saber in everything.
I won't bore you with a complete run down of tricks, but here are a few ones that are far easier.
Flat spins - this kite can do taz machines and slots very easily. It does not have the difficulties the original had.
The flare - the original required a bit of finesse to make it flare in higher winds. The Saber II has none of that.
Pitch - pitch in any orientation, but particularly forward, is much quicker and catching the stoppers is more reliable.
Effective wind range: 4-15
It can be flown in winds far lower and higher, but it's not really fun in winds much outside of that range. If you want a kite for lighter winds, check out the light saber. The frame and sail will remain intact well above 15, but who really wants to fly a trick kite in winds much above 15? If you need a kite like this for competition in winds higher, I do have a vented design, but be warned that the current vent is not a fun kite to fly.
Frame:
LE: P2X
Spine: P2X
LS: 5PT or Aerostuff gold S
Price: $240 standard colors (the same silver/charcoal/black pattern seen on most sabers with whatever color you want in the nose, tail, and tips)
+$20 fully custom colors (whatever icarex colors you want for all panels)
+$70 Aerostuff lower spreaders
Anyone who bought and still owns one of the original standards gets 10% off.
If you have any questions please let me know either via this forum or email.
If you wish to order a kite, please send me an email.
