There hasn't been a lot of activity and I haven't seen postings from any of you guys. I don't have much to contribute other than the topic of the week: the heat wave. It's been Africa hot and I haven't got outside much. And it's going to be hot for another week. I don't mind when it's in the 80s but the 90s is too hot for me. I hate standing the sun dripping in sweat. How hot do you go and what do you do to stay cool? Bob D.

I e-mailed him back around December to see how he was and how his wife was doing and got no response. I hope all is well with him. The first few years I flew I would go out in 90's no problem. I didn't like it all that much but I would do it. Now, forget it, that was over 10 years ago and I guess as I got older and more experienced I just did not feel the need to fly when it gets this hot . The last three days here have been 101, 103, and 110 with the heat index in the 120's. Thats way to much for me and actually very dangerous. I have not flown all summer long for the first time since I started flying and I am missing it. I will get back out when fall had taken hold around here. If you guys are still checking in then POST, lets get this place going again.

Expert Posts: 506 Aug 6 10 7:57 AM Moderator Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	My shoulder started bothering me about 3 weeks ago and I waited a week before I saw my doctor. From x-rays he said it was mild arthritis and put me on anti-inflammatories. (I'm not old enough!) It's been 2 1/2 weeks since then and it's starting to feel better. I WAS getting into cycling and I had just done 18 miles before all this. The heats coming back but I'm looking forward to getting back to flying. I miss seeing everyone's postings because I really liked the guys who posted here. Bob D.

Expert Posts: 253 Aug 20 10 7:57 PM Reply Quote More My Recent Posts	I had a very nice session today at about noon time. Wind was very nice, stable and around 7or 8 mph according to weather bug on the "crackberry". Working on some new tricks and perfecting old ones. Decided to throw up the Sea Devil std today. Things were working very well, but for some reason I have been having trouble with the 540's on this kite of late, timing issue on my part I'm guessing. The only down side (but not much of one as the wind was so good today) was the weather. It was 90 degrees with 29% humidity. So I guess that answers your question about when I will fly. The summers are too short up here to not fly if the wind is good. jim "The wise will listen; the other wise will do otherwise"

I've been flying at the local soccer field at lunch on their astro turf field. When it's in the upper 40s and low 50s, it's actually pretty nice. The wind has been good and I've been flying a little more. (I only get time to fly for about 45 minutes before I have to head back though.) I've been flying my Nirvanas and I'm really starting to like them. They don't give tricks away but they're predictable. Bob D.
